Please keep DIE SEL tax high and drop the (LPG) AUTOGAS to nil. THAT WOULD HELP ENCOURAGE FOLKS AND ENGINE MANUFACTURERS TO PRODUCE LPG ENGINES NOW !
Fuel prices in the UK hamper business and commerce. Even more so in Scotland as everything has to be carried by road so our costs are throttled by the 65% the UK government pockets. The amount of money pocketed by the UK government on every barrel of oil is obscene and dwarves the profits of the oil and gas companies. If the oil company were making the same amount of money as the UK government they would be considered a mafia and be disbanded and broken up.
Action should also be taken against the middle men who provide the diesel cards to small businesses. This week I have Rightfuel at 87.62. AS24 at 86.40 and European Diesel uk only at 93.49. All plus VAT. That's 7.09ppl difference between the cheapest and the dearest for us. Obviously the bulk buyers get it cheaper but for small operators it is still a huge cost as due to the diesel reductions the load rates have been reduced. Many going to go Bankrupt by next year. Need to get the prices down.
The fuel prices (duty) is way too high.
