On behalf of all drivers in the UK, here is our take on the emissions saga! Written by lead spokesman for FairFuelUK, TV broadcaster and motoring journalist, Quentin Willson and published in the Evening Standard 28th June 2017

"As you despair at the angry rhetoric dividing our country right now you might have missed another line of division that’s fast approaching – the enforced decline of the passenger car. The recent hysterical diesel debate and the latest London Mayor’s Transport Strategy both paint a grim picture for the future of car-based mobility.  By 2041 Sadiq Khan wants 80% of all London journeys to be by public ...

Be totally clear, 37m drivers will be at the heart of the new Government’s plans to raise fuel levies, congestion charges, parking costs and environmental taxes. FairFuelUK is apolitical, totally! BUT, it is right for the benefit of motorists, commercial drivers, the economy and the environment that we look at what is the best political package for 81% of the electorate. Through your support, we asked all General Election Candidates, that’s over 3200 politicos, where they stand on the following issues?:

1. Fuel Duty
2. Urban Taxes
3. The future of diesel
4. Road congestion and investment
5. Fair and honest pricing at the pumps

Here is a summary of our ...

When asked by Petroleum Review to contribute a pump prices missive to this August trade magazine, I was equally flattered and surprised. Turkeys voting for Christmas came to mind. FairFuelUK’s remit since 2011 has been to ensure a fair deal for 37m drivers at the pumps. But then I paused, and recognised that having the chance to air issues impacting on the readership’s customers, shows professional recognition and a willingness to listen.

When this article is published however, the Chancellor will have already given the last Budget to be posted in Spring. FairFuelUK on behalf of its 1.4m supporters will have called upon the ...

With Supermarkets, at last, driving down pump prices due to Brent Oil falling by 9% in Sterling since the beginning of February, the Government continues to say that 37m drivers see pump fill up costs reflect oil price changes within 7 weeks. But this claim is in no way reflected in the wholesale and retail data collected in the last 12 months**.

Everything about the shadowy world of the vehicle fuel supply chain has a musty repugnant smell about the way it formulates pump prices. In the last 12 months, the fuel supply chain has consciously held back wholesale changes amounting to at least £6billion*. Even ...

Howard Cox and I listened to the Chancellor hoping a new man at the helm would be cause for optimism for drivers and the economy.

This wasn’t a driver-friendly Autumn Statement. Car insurance tax went up, £1b on roads is an eightieth of what we’re about to spend on HS2, there was no significant increase in buyers incentives for low emission and electric cars no mention of plans for an electric wireless charging superhighway and only £27m on a road to join Oxford and Cambridge.  £220m on easing congestion pinch points might sound a lot but in reality it’s just a tiny raindrop echoing in a ...

Autumn Statement: The longest Tax Freeze in history Must be Turned into a Cut

Pre-Autumn Statement releases and announcement rumours of a continuing freeze in fuel duty till April 2018 show that the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his first ‘Mini-Budget’ is undeniably listening to FairFuelUK’s overwhelming economic evidence that lower prices at the pumps are hugely beneficial to the economy.

However, following the Autumn Statement UK petrol drivers will remain the 5th most fuel taxed in the world with diesel drivers being punished more than all other countries in 1st position. (See Table) UK drivers will still pay £33bn in fuel taxes ...

Help us to stop the opportunistic profiteering at the pumps and rip off of 37m drivers by signing the Government ePetition for PumpWatch at https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/170006

Conservative MPs lead by Chair of the APPG on Fair Fuel, Charlie Elphicke MP, plus SNP's Angus MacNeil MP and Labour's Rob Flello MP handed in a petition to the Treasury on Tuesday 15th November calling for a cut in Fuel Duty in the Autumn Statement together with a demand for a new pump pricing monitoring watchdog called PumpWatch. The PumpWatch Petition with 23,000 signatures collected in just a week was handed into the Treasury by Charlie Elphicke and FairFuelUK Campaigners Quentin ...

  • Please complete this quick survey about what road changes you want to see where you live.
  • Do you want a by-pass, an extra carriageway, a new road, a cycle lane or simply repairs to potholes?
  • What frustrates you about the roads or lack of roads where you reside?
  • Westminster MPs want to know what you want for a more efficient and safer roads infrastructure.
You will be aware that HS2 is to go ahead at a cost of £55bn. FairFuelUK is not here to judge the merits or disadvantages of this rail project to our lives or economy. However, the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Fair Fuel for Motorists and ...

As oil rises & Sterling weakens Fuel Suppliers opportunistically fleece UK Drivers at the Pumps. The APPG* on Fair Fuel for UK Motorists and Hauliers calls for the introduction of a new independent watchdog to monitor fair pricing and transparency at the pumps. FairFuelUK supporters are incensed by the latest blatant rocket increases in petrol and diesel, that will impact on inflation and growth in the economy.

FairFuelUK said: 'In the 38 days Brexit to the 1st of August wholesale fuel prices fell 5%, oil dropped 10% yet pump prices hardly moved. But in the 11 days ...
